Hi,
Before installing Linux try any other latest version.
Wish I could try beta 5 but so far on all my machine have had no go in getting them to come up just get a blank screen… 11.1 doesn’t like my video cards i guess , will have to play with it more or wait and hope the final will detect them properly.
Did you try selecting a lower resolution when installing? ie start with 800x600 and then after installation, boot to run level 3, run sax2 with the appropriate option, and change your resolution?
I didn’t try to install never got the live cd up and running… when time permits I may try again , just been happy with 11.0 and haven’t had the desire to try too hard yet. Thanks for the advise though.
No worries. One can do the same with the live CD.
When at the end, you get the blank screen, try pressing <CTR><ALT><Backspace> twice. That might bring you to ascii prompt.
If so login (I can’t remember the linux user in the live CD, I think it is “linux” so log in as user “linux”) to the live CD. And then try the vesa driver with something like: su -c ‘sax2 -r -m 0=vesa’
and then type: startx
