I have installed World of Warcraft in a vanilla wine install. Unfortunately in the default graphics mode World of Warcraft has terrible lag so I switched it to open-gl mode with the config.wtf file. Now the window is blank.

I have the Intel GMA 4500m.
Have you gone through the suggestions on appdb? Maybe see what they suggest over there -
It was working in the default mode which I guess in DirectX but it had an fps of about 3 and I could not really play. I looked around and it seemed that I should enable open-gl via the config.wtf file to improve the frame rate. Now I only get a black screen and have to use xkill to close it. It does not seem like people there have this problem.
Are you sure that you have openGL actually working on your machine?
I have no idea how to do that with an Intel video card, so I can’t help there, but search through the forum and/or google for a solution.
Oh, just found this -
Open a terminal and type:
glxinfo | grep direct
…you should get something like this -
direct rendering: Yes
GL_EXT_Cg_shader, GL_EXT_depth_bounds_test, GL_EXT_direct_state_access,
…the main thing being the YES.
That will tell you if your video driver is set up for openGL.
I get
direct rendering: Yes

OK, that’s your problem, the intel driver don’t support opengl with
wine, you have the same problem I have, install directx 9c on wine and
play it with directx

I get frequent lag everywhere even with all of the video settings on their lowest which is the only way to do anything.
