Working with Bletooth

Hi all,

I am working with openSUSE-13.2 on Gnome desktop: Laptop Dell Inspiron 15, Series 3000. I have active Bluetooth working but I do not know how to work with it: for example how to share files and folders between two computers both having active Bluetooth working.

I tried to search on the net but have not received any satisfactory answer. Could someone direct me to Bluetooth resource please? Shall be grateful.

Thanks & Regards,

RSP2

I’m not a Gnome user, but ‘gnome-user-share’ looks promising

https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-user-share/3.8/gnome-user-share.html

and openSUSE package available here

http://software.opensuse.org/package/gnome-user-share

Hi Deano,

Thanks a lot for your very prompt reply. Shall apply and come back to report results.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Deano,

I have installed gnome-user-share as well as obexftp. The article that you linked for me to read has shown a GUI using which the transfers are effected. I cannot figure out from where that gui has appeared. Can you please throw some more light upon it. Gnome-user-share is supposed to be working in the background and has no gui of its own.

Shall appreciate your help.

Thanks & Regards,

RSP2

As I understand, there is a ‘gnome-bluetooth’ package that is supposed to provide the GUI applet

I can only offer general advice as I’m not a Gnome user. (Not many seem to use BT any more.) So I can only encourage you to keep reading
