If you go to Yast - Software -Software Management
Filter by repo
select Packman
then check to see what shows up with Blue text (=update)
At the moment ignore any gstreamer stuff in Packman there seems to be a fault.
But make sure you have Packman versions of all multimedia.
looked at the repo: packman
there were NO blue items.
what next?

Add oss. openSUSE is a collection of packages located in oss, the oss repo IS openSUSE. If you don’t enable it you are not using openSUSE, so don’t expect packages designed for openSUSE to work.
DUDE!!! Im not certain how I missed that…?! Thanks… I installed libxine1 and uninstalled xine.
Am now able to play wmvs. However the video is jumpy… how do I clean it up?
Additionally, how do set up firefox (or better browser - open to recommendations) to play embedded wmvs?
