I have a Linksys WMP54G card and I works without problems.
Suddenly it doesn’t see any networks anymore.
nothing with “iwlist wlan0 scan”.
I started with the failsafe mode and it worked again, but I read something out of the starting text and there was something like:
“wlan0 IP x.x.x.x”
“wlan0 couldn’t start yet”
I happend the second time, but I installed openSuse 11.1 new the first time.

Where you using the NetworkManager? If so, try changing to the classical
ifup method in yast. There are a few people for which the networkmanager
stopped working in the last couple of days (mine since an update last
night).
Have a look in:
opensuse.org.help.network-internet.wireless group the thread:
WLAN with NetworkManager has stopped working!
This could be a driver anomaly. I have an intel 4695 card and sometimes it just fails to discover any networks and thus ifup fails as well, without any configuration changes. As i use ifup i don’t use networkmanager. Does the problem resolve itself after a reboot or is it persistent?
