WLAN card on asus eee pc 1018p not recognized

Hi!

just installed opensuse 11.3 on my asus eee pc 1018p and have severe problems to make the wireless network card work.

tried to install the driver with ndiswrapper and b43-cutter, but without any success. ifconfig does not show any wlan0 device.

below please find output of
lspci -v
dmesg
ifconfig

could you please help me? installed opensuse on several notebooks/netbooks before but never ran into serious trouble.

thank you very much
Meggi

Hi,

Some readings for you : Install Broadcom Drivers from Packman

can I commend the succinctness of post #5

Broadcom BCM4313 problem

by Larry Finger; one listens very carefully to everything he says

I think getting first the identify numbers of the hardware (PCI-ID like " 14e4:4727 ") before installing/modifying anything would be a good thing.

see:
[Install Broadcom Drivers from Packman](http://forums.opensuse.org/english/information-new-users/unreviewed-how-faq/446861-install-broadcom-drivers-packman.html#post2264457 = ) with #post2264457 (=#5 in that general thread) and Broadcom BCM4313 problem especially #post2263251 (=#1 of that special tread) and #post2265306 (=#14 of that special threat)

This might help to corner your hardware and so the best way/software for your hardware. Because I do not know if “bcm4313” is really a case in which the “name” of the Broadcom hardware could be trusted (if there are such cases at all).

Just my guess/thoughts
