WLAN cannot set IP address until router reboot

I am running 12.3 and KDE 4.10.5 and after I lock my screen or reboot network manager cannot set my ip address until i reboot my router. everything was working fine until i installed some updates quite a few actually, so i do not know which one. no other computers on my network has this problem. I dual boot UBUNTU on this same machine it works fine. does anyone else have this problem or a solution? thanks
