Hi everybody
does anyone know if the Wireshark update (version 2) is scheduled for our loved distro? We are the only os in the .rpm family still with the 1.12 version.
Greetings to all!
Hi everybody
does anyone know if the Wireshark update (version 2) is scheduled for our loved distro? We are the only os in the .rpm family still with the 1.12 version.
Greetings to all!
the network:utilities repo has 2.0.2
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/network:/utilities/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/
you can try installing it without adding the repo
sudo zypper in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/network:/utilities/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/x86_64/wireshark-2.0.2-184.1.x86_64.rpm
if you get a dependency error add the network:utilities repo
sudo zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/network:/utilities/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/network:utilities.repo
sudo zypper in wireshark-2.0.2
Right, and Tumbleweed as well therefore (because network:utils is the devel repo for Factory/Tumbleweed).
But a released openSUSE version only gets bugfix and security updates.
So no, Wireshark 2.0 will not be released as update for Leap 42.1.
42.2 might get it though, depending on whether wireshark is taken from SLE or Factory. (I donβt know what version will be in SLE 12 SP2)
Got it! Many thanks!
