wireshark boot

Hello,

When I am connecting as root under one terminal and that I try to launch wireshark, I have the next failure which appeared :

libwireshark.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I use Open Suse x86-64 under KDE and the last version of wireshark : 1.8.7

Could you help me ?

Hi
So does wireshark work? The libwireshark.so file is part of the development package, so might be a packaging issue. You should report as a bug.

Hello,

I think it could be coming from development package.
Wireshark in my case doesn’t work.
But, on other forum, one user has installed this same package and it works.
Could you tell me how to report a bug on development package ?

Hello,

I have one laptop on Open Suse 12.3, and I install wireshark 1.8.7 and it works.
I think, I have got another problem on my machine but I don’t know the problem.

When I type wireshark & on a terminal with root rights, I have the same error, but wireshark is launched and it works.

I cannot understand.

Hi
So if you install the development package the error goes away and it
functions?

For the bug, have a look here;

Think about what is different between your successful and failed attempts…

Is it only when you launch from a GUI menu? Maybe the menu command is incorrect.
Since you’re running KDE, you can inspect the menu shortcut command

Application Launcher Button > Edit Applications…
