Your wireless is associated with your AP. Your problem in connecting to the
Internet is either a problem with DNS or one of routing. Running as a normal
user, please post the output of the following:
Hi, I’m new to Linux in general. I recently purchased a netbook. Asus 1005HAB. Windows XP was garbage. I experienced every issue that you could imagine. I switched to Linux. Every distro seemed to work except for the wireless. My netbook has a AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-EXPRESS)(wlan0). Funny… it shows that the connection is active, yet I cannot connect. I have heard wonderful things about the Linux community and would like simple directions for a non-techie newbie.
I had this problem after upgrading my Intel/Pro Wireless Dell from 11.0 to 11.2 and troubleshot for two days. getting IP address but the routing tables weren’t being updated somehow.
I uninstalled NetworkManager and installed wicd and everything has been fine. I know it’s not an intensely technical solution, but whatever works, right?
