Wireless Will Not Show as connected

I am an amateur with opensuse and i have installed 11.3 today i cannot get the wireless to work it just wont even show as connected or even detected please please help i will give you as much info as possible please ask if anymore needed and tell me how to get it thanks

Running opensuse 11.3 acer aspire 5520 laptop- can get a WIRED connection

Power Management:off

sudo /usr/sbin/iwlist scan

lo Interface doesn’t support scanning.

eth0 Interface doesn’t support scanning.

wlan0 Interface doesn’t support scanning : Network is down

I’m pretty bad at this but since the experts have missed your post: try installing the bcm firmware.

Maybe my post will also draw in advice from someone who knows what they’re talking about.
