Hello, all.
I recently installed openSUSE 11.3 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
It turns out that everything works rather well with the minor exception of my wireless (I’m currently connected by Ethernet cable). I get a signal and will go to connect and one of two things will happen. Either it will just fail to connect to the signal or it will connect and hang onto the signal for about 2-3 minutes and then just drop it. Another, more recent issue, is that sometimes I’ll go into the wireless 802.11 Create Network Connection and it will just flat out refuse to even try to connect.
I read the stickied thread ‘Getting Your Wireless to Work’ and will hopefully be providing the information it talks about. I’ll just follow its format.
YaST found my Wireless LAN. Following the instructions, I checked and these are the stats of my wireless card (which IS recognized by the system).
Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card
Kernal Driver: ssb
I opened the Terminal and typed in “dmesg | grep firmware” it gave me these results:
22.517492] b43 ssb0:0: firmware: requesting b43/ucode15.fw
22.526153] b43 ssb0:0: firmware: requesting b43/lp0initvals15.fw

825.117294] b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 478.104 (2008-07-01 00:50:23)
And yes, I’ve enabled my wireless!
I did the scan for access points, and it returned the following:
lo Interface doesn’t support scanning.

After associating with the access point, I’ve acquired the following information from putting.

I’ve disabled IPv6, and I’m just at a general loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
