With installation of Leap 15.1 utility “NetworkManager” is enabled by default only when OS is installed on a laptops.
With destops you need to manually change from “wicked” to “NetworkManager”.

I see NetworkManager as the post-install default on any systems with both a graphical desktop and a wireless network adaptor. Otherwise (i.e. either no wireless or no graphical desktop) the default is wicked. I think that this has been the case for several years.
