Wireless not working when on battery - on AC everything is OK

Hi! Problem as in title: on AC everything ok, but on battery my wireless is not working.

openSUSE 11.4, gnome 3.0
lspci:

03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4727] (rev 01)

	Kernel driver in use: wl

Ok, just need to use

It is good you found the problem as wl is closed source and we have no idea what
it does.

Hmm, I still cannot connect even though power management is off.

Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: 00:80:5A:62:9B:80
          Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power:24 dBm
          Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Power Management:off
Link Quality=5/5 Signal level=-56 dBm Noise level=-90 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:143 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:5 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

Does anyone have an idea what to try next?

this is the relevant part of lspci -v

First priority is to get wifi working when on DC power
Actually, it would be nice to have power management when it works at all, so if anyone knows a workaround.

Thanks for any suggestions![/size]

Talk to Broadcom. You are using a closed-source driver. How could we possibly
help debug that?

I was hoping that I’d made a stupid configuration mistake

Oh well, next time I will look for a laptop with possibilities for open sourced hardware drivers.

Thanks

Make sure that your laptop vendor knows how unhappy you are with Broadcom’s
unwillingness to cooperate fully with the open-source community, and that you
never will buy their product again.

FYI, the b43 group has not been able to get Broadcom to help with your BCM4313.
They will not even donate a card.

After the recent updates of the wireless driver (broadcom, opensuse 11.4) I have no problems with my wireless card when on battery power.

Thanks to the good work by the B43 group!
