I read the first two Thread on how to check if the wireless is working on not, how ever the only useful information I could think of is the following:
02:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8192SE Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10)
02:00.0 0280: 10ec:8174 (rev 10)
that’s what I was able to find with the help of what I read, however when I go to the see if the dmesg | less say something I’m not able to find the line where is recognize. I know the wlan works because I being going back and forward with windows. I went to the website to check on the driver however, I’m going to be honest, I don’t know what to do with it…
Any kind of pointers will help… Thanks in advance.
I’m not sure which two threads you have read:
This thread has helped me configure my card and setup my network, it is a very useful step by step guide
Configure a network card in Suse/openSUSE 11.x for Internet Access & wifi.
Which version of OpenSuse are you using 11.3, 11.4? For your desktop environment are you using KDE or Gnome

That device is not yet supported in any kernel. I’m working on it, but the
earliest kernel will be 2.6.40 and openSUSE 12.1.
You will need to download the source from the Realtek web site and builr your
own driver. I have no idea how well that will work. The back-door release I got
from them crashes my computer withing 20 deconds of loading it.

Did you look at the opensuse download page. I use the driver from the
wireless repository with the rtl8191SE.
