Wireless not working; knetworkmanager will not recognize ethernet connection either

You might want to look at the Network Manager log file and perhaps post its contents here for more information, surrounding the text using the code (#) option.

In KDE use the menu Run Command:

kdesu kwrite /var/log/NetworkManager

This file allowed me to see a problem I was having and so someone here may also be able to help by looking at yours. Also, I have a script file that allows one to look at this file and eight others. YOu can read about the script at:

that seems like it will help a lot, thanks. i will have to look at it tomorrow though. i should mention that i got the ethernet working through ifup, however wireless still is not working. ill keep you updated on further progress.
