Wireless Not Functioning | Qualcomm Atheros AR5B95 | openSUSE 12.3

I have just recently installed openSUSE to my OS testing system (my own personal computer, which has 5 bootable OSes), and have come to find that the wireless is not working for my particular wireless card (Qualcomm Atheros AR5B95). This issue does not appear on any other OS on my system, which are as follows:

  • Windows 7
  • Elementary OS
  • Linux Mint 15
  • LuninuX OS

Here are some images of my settings in hopes it will help you help me diagnose the issue.

I would embed them, but there is a 4 image limit and they are large in size.

Did you try to reboot?
If it works on other Linuxes out of the box, chances are that you are hit by this:
https://www.suse.com/releasenotes/i386/openSUSE/12.3/RELEASE-NOTES.en.html#idm1265055196

You could also try to switch to NetworkManager in YaST->Network->Network Settings.

Regarding your first solution, I’ve rebooted 3-4 times to no avail.

I’ll try the second suggestion and edit the post with results.

Since I can’t seem to edit the post, I’ll make a new one. The second solution still does not display any available connections or network interfaces.

Not even a wired one?
Please check if NetworkManager is actually running:

systemctl status network.service
systemctl status NetworkManager.service

And also try this: openSUSE 12.3 Release Notes

NetworkManager is running, I’ll try the link.
I guess the --force command did the trick, as I’m typing this from within openSUSE. Thanks for the help!
I’m not sure how to edit the original post to let people know this is solved.
