Hi I’m new on OpenSuse leap42.1, I have a problem with the wireless connection. Network Manager doesn’t find them. If I use ifconfig, it only finds lo and eth0. What can I do to enable the wifi?
Thanks

Did you see the “sticky” threads at the top of this Wireless forum?
They give advice on what to do and which information to provide when you ask a question like this here.

Sorry I didn’t see it. For the first link you suggest me I obtained:
In step 1 and 2:
07:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 802.11b/g/n (rev 01)
07:00.0 0280: 14e4:4365 (rev 01)
but after when I type “dmesg | less” I don’t find something about the WLAN. And even in step 4 with “/usr/sbin/iwconfig” the computer doesn’t find it and gave me only:
eth0 no wireless extensions.
lo no wireless extensions.
For the second link in YaST => Hardware => Hardware Information I don’t have “Wirless Wlan” and when I go to PCI I don’t have something that start with UDI
That is considarable more then then we had earlier. There is now informatioon about the make and type of the device. It is also clear that it is “working” at all (there is no wifi device found by the system), probably because the firmware is not loaded.
I am no expert. thus let us wait until others tune in.
