Wireless nor working after usimg connection through NetworkManager

I just installed tumbleweed and I’ve connected to a wireless network by doing “sudo NetworkManager” in a terminal but no other programs (like firefox) will connect to the internet. In network manager it says I’m connected and everthing’s fine, but that fact does not seem translate over to any programs.

I’ve tried using knetworkmanager but I’m using xfce so I don’t have that.

My wireless card is an atheros r9485.

That’s not the proper way to use NetworkManager.

Switch from “Wicked Service” to “NetworkManager” in YaST->System->Networksettings->Global Options, and it will be started (even on boot afterwards).

I’ve tried using knetworkmanager but I’m using xfce so I don’t have that.

knetworkmanager is old and deprecated, it’s from KDE3 actually.

XFCE should have its own networkmanager frontend.
In any case there’s nm-applet (package NetworkManager-gnome) or the text based “nmtui” included with NetworkManager itself.

Thank you ! That solved it
