Wireless N? Anything special that needs to be configured?

I’m using KDE4.3/openSUSE 11.2 (x86_64) and my laptop has a network card supporting Wireless N(Intel 4965agn) and my router supports it as well(D-LINK DIR-655).
However when I click the network manager and then hover over the connected network its showing,

Network speed: 54Mbit/s

So is there something that needs to be configured to go for the N mode? The router itself does show that there’s a client connected with a 100% signal strength and 65Mbps using Wireless N mode… so that’s a bit confusing. (isn’t wireless N suppossed to be faster than that @ 100% signal?)
