Pretty new to Linux, I cant recall if I have the wireless.kernel.org Drivers installed on this machine for the AR928x Network card that is in this Laptop, Is their a easy way to check?
And If I dont a Step by Step on installing the Driver from Wireless.Kernel.Org, Let me know if you need any more information! =)
-Agent
It says,
"Network Controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
kernel driver in use: ath9k
Kernel modules: ath9k
How do I compare this with wireless.kernel.org to see if I have their version installed?
"If you want to get the latest ath9k driver you can get it by using the wireless-testing git tree. Read our git-guide for that. Alternatively you can simply upgrade only your Linux wireless subsystem by using compat-wireless. "
Is “upgrade only your Linux wireless subsystem by using compat-wireless.” What I want to upgrade my driver?
I guess I have to ask. Is there something not OK with what you have?
Everything is fine with what I have But I would like to learn.
If it ain’t broke - don’t fix it!
Unless this is a sandbox machine?
This computer I got to brake anyways, I bought it just for this reason to learn suse and I got Recovery CD’s at hand, Its not a big deal at all, I would like to really put the new drivers on.
Or maybe perhaps a point to the right direction of a tutorial, I don’t mind helping myself =).
