My wireless keeps crashing. It will automatically reconnect to the proper network but the network will not work without a reboot. Sometimes I have to do a total shut down and restart to get my network to show up again. This only happens on this laptop with openSuse 13.2, our other windows laptop does not have this issue nor does any other wireless device we own, xbox, bluray, etc…
It happens on all the Linux OS’s I have tried, all two, openSuse and ubuntu. I have to reboot to get it back, it will not come back disconnecting and re-connecting.
This is what I got from this code:
michelle@linux-tauz:~> journalctl -a | grep -i net

If all that code didn’t help, I usually have to reboot to get my connection back after the laptop hibernates of if I leave VLC playing all night. (I use this laptop as a little TV so I can sleep at night lol).
Hi Michelle. Please use code tags when posting output (refer to the ‘#’ button in the forum editor). If the output is lengthy (as is the case with the journalctl output), it is a good idea to copy/paste to http://paste.opensuse.org/ and post the link that it generates here.

FWIW, I once owned a ThinkPad Z60m which used an Intel PRO 2200bg wireless card. I encountered one particular work environment where the wireless connection repeatedly disconnected as is being described here. I think this was found to be due to the type of encryption in use (eg WPA-PSK authentication with TKIP or AES encryption) I didn’t investigate it further, since I wasn’t in control of the wireless router, but it may be that you a similarly affected. The Intel 2200bg wireless device is old hardware, so the driver may be the underlying cause of the issue here.
Anyway, if you are using NetworkManager to control your network connectivity, then you can examine the network output using
sudo journalctl -fu NetworkManager
CTRL C to terminate. You can copy/paste the relevant output pertaining to a disconnection event.
Using the 1st command you supplied, I believe it is the network manager I am using… this is the result:
michelle@linux-tauz:~> sudo journalctl -fu NetworkManager

This is an un-secure network. I belileve it is a Cisco router or modem, not sure as it is not mine. The connection name is Cisco is all I know for sure.
The NM log segmented you’ve posted shows no sign of disconnection, although I can see a DHCPv6 request times out. Is the wireless really not remaining associated with the access point, or perhaps some other issue here?

Do you authenticate via a log web page? Or is it completely open?
