Hi all,
I have a thread going here but there doesn’t seem to be many OpenSuSe users there so I figured it was worth a shot to try here.
Wireless is sssslllooowww…
In summary, I have a brand new Dell Inspiron 15R laptop running OpenSuSe 12.1 and when I unplug the laptop from the wall the wireless speed drops so low that the machine is no longer usable. Plug it back in and viola… everything works again.
Here are the stats:
# Plugged in
Ping 16ms
DL 25.26 Mbps
UP 5.66 Mbps
# Unplugged
Ping 951 ms
DL 0.06 Mbps
UP 0.44 Mbps
What is the resolution to this? The laptop is useless to me if it has to be plugged in all the time.
Any help is appreciated.

What’s the wireless card in that?
I have a 17R here myself, and it doesn’t have this issue, wondering if we
have the same wireless card or something different.
I run mine on the battery all the time and the wireless seems OK, even in
the powersave power management profile.
