hello, this is my first post here. I’m from Argentina, so sorry if I have bad english.
Please move the post if it’s in wrong place.
I’m using opensuse 11.1 with KDE 4.2 and I have a very very annoying problem with the wireless connection.
When I close de laptop lid, the wireless connection seems to stop.
For example: I’m downloading a file, it goes on a reasonable speed. If I close the lid and reopen it at 10 min, the file has stoped downloading, and continues when I reopen the lid.
Of course, the system is configured to do nothing at closing the lid, so theoretically the system keeps working at 100%.
Had someone experiment this?
Here my specs:
Notebook HP 530
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Using the traditional ifup method and iwl3945 driver
As I said, it’s configured to do nothing. It doesn’t hibernate, sleep nor lock screen. It does nothing. Even the screen is still on when the lid is closed.
So, that’s not the problem.
I became crazy searching for a solution, but I didn’t find anything.
Forgot to mention: when I close the lid, the connection sometimes breaks and it stops working. In that case I have to reset the computer to get it working.
Now a question: Is there some file that says to acpid what to do when the lid closes?
Thanks in advance.
i have discovered something new. If I press the buttton but not close the lid, the connection remains active. The problem appears when I close the lid.
I think this is a hardware problem, some trouble with the screen insulating the signal or somthing like that.
Someone occurs what can be the problem?
Thanks
