This is your device

At this page: HCL/Network Adapters (Wireless)/Broadcom BCM43xx - openSUSE

I quote a ref to your device:

Note: One exception is the BCM4312 802.11b/g [14e4:4315] chipset. As of 1/30/09 it is not supported by the b43 driver

I’m no expert in this area but it may be you need to use ndiswrapper. There is a @swerdna link here on that:
Madwifi or Ndiswrapper Wireless Network Drivers - Suse/openSUSE 10, 11 - LAN & Internet access

You might want to check your Dell machine here first:
HCL/Laptops/Dell - openSUSE

DO NOT USE ndiswrapper. Your 4315 needs compat-wireless, the broadcom-wl driver,
or a 2.6.32 kernel. Please go to the wireless forum and do a search for threads
that mention 4315.

Thanks for clearing that up Larry. So is that info on that broadcom page out of date?

This page has been updated recently with some Oneclicks
HCL/Network Adapters (Wireless) - openSUSE

What do you think of this?

The oneclicks should be helpful. I am now going to try them.
