Hi,
I am new to linux and i’ve just installed SUSE 11 to my EEE PC 901. i am stuck at getting my wireless connection with wpa to connect to my Dlink DIR-655 router. i am able to connect to unsecured network. However, when I switch to WPA (or WEP), SUSE kept asking for network password, which I’ve provided correctly. i have tried changing the encryption setting but none works, ie, SUSE still ask for the network password. I have also googled for a known solution but seems existing thread is not addressing to my problem. could anyone please shred some light on how to resolve it? many thanks in advance.

There is a bug in the NM applet that keeps a password entered into the popup
applet from getting through. You need to use the “Manage Connections” to enter
the password. It should work then.
sorry, I am unable to find the “Manage Connections” option. Could you please give more directions on how to locate the option? fyi, I am using Gnome. thanks.

You should state the desktop that you use. I am a KDE user, thus I’m not sure
what the applet options. When you click on the NM applet, what options are you
given?
The problem is now resolved by forcing my router to only accept WPA-Personal and AEK. Once that changed, my SUSE can connect to the internet. My other wireless devices, iMac, PSP, windows, do not have similar problem so I believe there is a bug in Linux Manager. can any one advise what would be the reason of the bug? tks.
