I instaled openSuse 11 64 bits from live cd, accessing the Internet throw my wireless adapter, and everything seemed to be ok (except for a small bug on grub).
Then, when I booted from HD, it could not connect to the Internet, and I saw that the password was turned into a bunch of letters and numbers. I changed again to the correct password and clicked ok. It could not connect and it had changed again to the messed password.
I deleted the configuration, set it from zero, but the same.
Keep in mind I was for sure using it from live cd. But now it always save my wireless connection password/passphrase messed.

An encryption passphrase is ALWAYS converted to a hexadecimal key that
is the required value for the handshaking with the AP. That key is
probably the bunch of numbers and letters that you report.
If you are using WEP, please be aware that there are at least 2 ways
to convert a passphrase to a key, and they are incompatible.
