Hi,
I have a Atheros USB Wifi stick with ZyDAS zd1211ug chipset. just installed the driver from software repositories, and it is detected (both in YaST and KDE network applet).
The problem is, in Windows, it successfully connects to a specific network, and remains connected. But in linux (opensuse 12.1 64 bit) it cannot even find
the network ESSID to connect to.
any insights appreciated.
In Windows, it has ~ 40 percent signal quality and everything works fine.
I don’t know enough about this.
Hopefully Larry will see this and help you

Is the AP configured to have the ESSID hidden?
If it’s hidden, you need to configure it manually the first time. After
that, it’ll “find” it because it knows to try connecting to it.
I’ve got my AP set up that way.
