wireless 3945ABG won`t work

Hi guys im totally new to Linux, i usually dont seek for help as i try to get all the info i need off forums but this time i just cant work it out…i went through a lot of s**t, tried lots of things none of them work…

Now i`m connected with a lan cable, if i plug it off, the wifi comes up saying “connected” (on the computer status on the bottom left).
But nothing is connected… (the wifi switch is on).

please someone help me here, i really like Opensuse and hate windows, ive been using it for years and now i cant stand it anymore !
i wanna get familiar with this os but cant do s**t without wifi! everything works fine except from the wifi!! i cant believe it`s so frustrating!

the ip address is - DHCP
module name - iwl3945
device name - wlan0
operating mode - managed
ifup
change hostname vis dhcp in ticked
same for the one below

cheers guys

I have this wireless device on my R61
It works flawlessly
In fact they work out of the box, no questions asked.

You need to use networkmanager for the connection and kwallet to manage the passphrase for the wireless encryption (or the gnome equivalent of kwallet)

Use WPA2 rather than WEP

How do you know nothing is connected? What do your network commands show
when you unplug from the LAN regarding IPs, Routes, etc.? Post the output
from the following commands, please:

ip addr
ip route
cat /etc/resolv.conf
/usr/sbin/iwconfig

It may also be worth knowing if your wireless network is the same one as
the LAN from which you unplugged or if, as this sounds, also includes
getting on new networks. Do networks show up as available from the
NetworkManager icon? Which version of OpenSUSE are you using?

Good luck.
