wired network problem on resume from suspend to ram

on my PC=Dell latitude E6510, RAM=8Gb, GPU=GT218 NVS 3100M, CPU=i7 Q 720 @ 1.60GHz, OS=opensuse 13.2 KDE= 4.14.3

after resume from suspend to RAM the network seems to works, networkmanager shows wired connection 1 connected, but thunderbird, firefox, chrome, chromium do not connect to internet, close them before suspend doesn’t solve, restart them doesn’t solve, logout and login again doesn’t solve, reboot solve…
I suspect it happens when I change network from the suspend and the resume, for example if I suspend and resume using the same network at my home it works, if I change network, for example I suspend at my home and resume at work it doesn’t works.
ani suggestion to solve???
manythanks, ciao  pier

Did you switch network in the Network Manager?

Or if youing wired then try wicked. It is made more for wired networks

…as in the past in 13.1, I change network suspending to ram, detaching cable, move my laptop to work and reattach cable, resume, and networkmanager automagically reconnect, but now it doesn’t works anymore…

What if you reconnect after resume. It would narrow down why it does not work

disconnect and reconnect doesn’t help, the connection seems to work, networkmanager says:
hoovering on networkmanager icon in system tray shows em1 - Wired Ethernet Connected to wired connection 1
click on networkmanager icon in system tray and on details shows IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.81 MAC Address: 00:26:B9:D4:11:15 .
but, thunderbird, firefox, chrome, chromium doesn’t connect to the internet…
after reboot everything works.

192.168.1.81 Is that the work or home address? Maybe it thinks it is still connected to the other network.

So did you try wicked? set it up in Yast

Unplug before sleep replug after restore.

the address 192.168.1.81 is the home one, but I checked it, at work it changes…

…no, I didn’t, I never tried it…, I will try, …but how it works with wireless?

…tried also this, doesn’t works…

…IT WAS WICKED!!!, I was using wicked and I didn’t know…
I upgraded this 13.2 from 13.1 and in the release notes I remember there was this issue, but I had in my mind tha network shouldn’t work at all…, mine was working but badly…
…I switched to networkmanager so tomorrow at the work I’ll test it …
many thanks  ciao  pier

Ha… Probably should file a bugzilla on it. Wicked is new and has teething problems. Good to let the devloper know what they are.

…yes it was wicked, now with networkmanager it works verygood, ok I will file the bug…
