I’m using opensuse/kde, and yast can’t find winff. How can I install it, please?
WinFF is not included with openSUSE. I found some info on it here: winff - WinFF Google Project Hosting, but it seems mainly for use with Windows and in Linux it is just a GUI for the command line video converter called ffmpeg, which is or can be installed into openSUSE.
Thank You,
Hi
Looks like a user has packaged it up;
http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=winff&baseproject=openSUSE%3A12.1&lang=en&include_home=true&exclude_debug=true
You would need to get ffmpeg (and associated files) by adding the
packman repository.

after installing winff you may need to edit some presets in winff. (eg ‘kb’ will be ‘k’)
The presets I have in audacity are here: SUSE Paste which I created by editing the default ones (as they were not compatible with the current packman packaged ffmpeg version). Its an ongoing effort to keep these presets up to date as the ffmpeg interface keeps changing.
Note the presets are kept under /home/usersname/.winff/presets.xml
For winff go here:
software.opensuse.org: Search Results
Install with Yast
