I installed WINE in openSUSE 11.2 recently. The software manager did not ask for any dependencies, so I just installed it. But now, I have a problem. With the wine command in the terminal, it seems like it’s installed but when I try to open a file (with the name jbwin101.exe), like this:
wine jbwin101.exe
or
wine "jbwin101.exe"
it says:
wine: could not load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\home.exe": Module not found
What’s the problem? Is it that WINE wasn’t installed properly, or something else? What’s more, there’s no menu in the Kickoff launcher for installed WINE applications, as there was in Fedora, my previous distro. I’ve used this program with WINE before, and it worked flawlessly, so it can’t be that WINE doesn’t support it.
Try this. Locate to the directory containing jbwin101.exe, right-click on the .exe file for a context menu and select “open with”, type “wine” without quotes to execute it.
I am the same problem in openSUSE 11.2 32 bits, with *.exe files.
In the terminal, Wine returns:
wine: could not load L"C:\windows\system32\setup.exe": Module not found

Have you run winecfg yet? Also try installing wine-doors.
