wine hangs 11.2/gnome w/w98 app

Hello List! Now I have two 11.2 boxes, one with each kde and gnome.

kde runs the wine-1.1.28 off the DVD fine for both W98 and XP apps and the winecfg > audio works.

gnome wine-1.1.28 will run XP apps, but hangs with W98 apps. windcfg > audio hangs.

I think I’ve disabled all the pulseaudio in gnome. I’ve deleted and reinstalled wine-1.1.28 after disabling pulseaudio.

The W98 app with gnome seems to hang where sound would be required.

Can this wine-1.1.28 run W98 apps with gnome? Please help! Heboland

Replying to myself, I have my W98 app working!

The winecfg > audio still doesn’t work, but changing the wine invocation from wineconsole to wine eliminated the hang.

Amazingly with wine the application sound works fine and the app will exit using the controls it displays.

Wineconsole works in 11.2/kde 4.3 and the winecfg > audio works, but I have what I wanted! Heboland
