Wine 3.0 Stable - Repository

Hi,
Wine made another stable version - Wine Stable 3.0.
https://www.winehq.org/announce/3.0
It seems that Marcus didn’t update standard repo, which still contains 2.0.1.

Thankfully, there’s a repo that is maintained by Marcus:
From here, https://software.opensuse.org/package/wine , you could get here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/Emulators%3AWine%3ASTABLE/wine (For Leap 42.3)
It’s maintained by him, as text says.

My main question… Is this a Stable, reliable binary source? No OBS? No staging?

(The only repo I added as extra was packman, though I’m trying to be careful and installed only 1 program from there).

A fixed openSUSE release normally doesn’t get version upgrades, only bug and security fixes.

My main question… Is this a Stable, reliable binary source? No OBS? No staging?

This is OBS (openSUSE’s Build System), but it’s not tested by openQA. Although AFAIK also the standard wine in the distribution (Leap/Tumbleweed) is not tested by openQA at all anyway.

This repo only gets stable upstream releases though, so can be considered stable/reliable I suppose (at least as stable/reliable as the upstream releases are).

Personally I “use” the unstable version from Emulators (although, I don’t really use wine much anyway), which follows the unstable development releases and is currently at version 3.5. Never had a problem with it, and in the past (years ago) that was more or less necessary, because the stable release was just lacking… That should be different meanwhile though.

Btw, Leap 15.0 will apparently come with 3.5 at least, not the “stable” 3.0…
