Windows XP doesn't boot after second Suse installation -newbie

Hi!

I’m a newbie!!!

I did a Suse installation on an existing Win XP PC.

It passed ok and it both appears on the booting menu (Windows XP and Suse).

By mistake I tried to do a new Suse installation on same PC.

Now the Windows XP doesn’t appear on the Boot Menu.

I don’t know how to: access, edit and repair the problematic file\s.

Please give detailed instructions.

TIA

Na

I cant remember how it was exactly but more or less do this:

Insert the opensuse installation disk.
On the first screen choose installation
Then on the installation procedure there is a scrren where u have the otpion to perform
“New installation”
“repair installed seystem”
etc…
Choose repair installed system.
After u choose “repair installed system”
There should be an option like “fix grub” or reinstall grub or something.Choose thise option.
My apologies for not remembering exactly waht u have to do,but try it it should not be ver yhard to find

If windows is not appearing in the grub boot menu, you can edit it using Yast. Goto Yast > System > Grub Loader. Click on add > Chainloader > next. Then add Windows ™ to “Section Name” and the location of windows ™ partion to “Other System” (mine is /dev/sda1). Then ok it and reboot!
Hope this helps and works for you!

Thanks!
