im using windows 7 rtm build 7260.
after installing suse 11.1 windows is not detecting my network card.
my device manager shows nothing abt network adapters
plz help
Very odd.
Try shutting down and then boot to winders
N.B.
I deleted your other identical post. Don’t double post please:-)
im still having the same problem
Some NICs need to be powered down completely (including unplugging computer from mains if applicable), before starting the alternative OS. Try that.
i can confirm something similar: switching between xp and suse requires shutdown and start instead of restart
this is true even for win to lin and lin to win
my wireless network card is rtl8185
bye
there may be hardware problem of NIC or motherboard, if both are ok then go to computer device manager and go to the network adaptors see your nic is supporting or not otherwise update your driver of nic or check the ip address if network is not connected.
there is no problem with my motherboard or nic. even if i shut down n start windows my network card is not detected.
how can i update the driver when there are no network adapters shown in the device manager

Does your device show up with an lspci or lsusb command? If not, either your
BIOS has disabled the device, or the hardware has failed.
network card is being detected in linux and not detected in windows
Try downloading the the windows driver from the vendor and install manually rather than use the update driver in win
