Window Behavior Issue, 11.2 KDE

Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I’ve not been able to find anything specific to this issue.

I just installed the OS and have been working out bugs all day. At some point in the proceedings, I realized that a given window, when maximized, does not fill the display screen. I’ve tried tweaking the “Configure Window Behavior” GUI, also tried simple resizing… but I can’t find the magic button that restores a maximized window so that it fills the screen.

I’m hoping this is an easy and obvious fix…

Right click the top of a window - go to advanced - Special Window Settings

See if you can configure from there

One time I accidentally add a panel on the left side of the screen w/out knowing it. When the kde4 panel doesn’t have any app it isn’t noticeable. scratched my head figuring out how can I maximize the window to the left side of the screen, til I found out that the hidden panel is causing the pain.

Bingo, Conram – a plasma panel somehow appeared at the upper left. Upon removal, maximized windows fill the screen again.

Thanks!

It beats me, how on earth you didn’t notice that, you too @conram
