You stated that you can get Win7 to install in one partition. On checking
my other multiboot machines i did this as well, it is only the most recent
version that does not play nice. More unneeded unwanted codswallop for
UEFI signed only booting. I will reinstall from an older install disk.

So you are saying that Newer versions of Win7 (I was using Win7 Premium
SP1 _64) differ to the one I was using?

I am pretty sure that my first install was not SP1 but the disc assigned
to that machine is. (yes, i bought a new one when i couldn’t find the
original). Of course that was an XP that i upgraded with a full install
disc as XP couldn’t boot that box (too new, even with driver CD).
And yes, the current (SP1) disc seems to insist on destroying alien
partitions.
