Will the Touchpad on my HP 4720s work with OpenSUSE

Hi Everyone,

I have been having some serious issues with the HP 4720s Touchpad with other distro’s of Linux. The 2 main issues are 1) Right click does not work 2) The bottom section of the Touchpad (buttons) scroll as if it were the trackpad still when a button is pressed (e.g move a window) which leaves the entire thing unusable because you can’t drag windows around etc…

Can someone please let me know if they have an HP 4720s and have OpenSUSE running on it without problems?

Thx

Trevor

i don’t have such an HP, but i suggest: download the CD flavor of your
choice Live KDE or Live GNOME here: http://software.opensuse.org/114/en
boot from it and see how your touchpad works…

alternatively, sometimes google can give hints, like:
http://tinyurl.com/3uq7skw gives 177 hits on generic “linux”,

while search only on this site with
http://tinyurl.com/3whjqf2 you will only find your post (meaning no
one else has ever been here reporting a problem such as yours, with your
HP model number)…

now, if you become less specific then just looking on this site, but
still use SUSE (instead of Linux in the search) you get only 55 hits and
any one of which might either directly answer your question, or not…
