I am picking up another HArd drive and I aam wondering if there are going to be any problems? like after I boot the comp will OpenSuse see it and configure it automatically or do I need to do anything I am asking because I am planing on installing a different OS so I can try out my wintv-HVR-1600 tv card out I havn’t had any success getting it to work on any Linux Distri that I have tried.
I read that Seagate have Linux compatibility problem now (Freeagent class) e.g.

our local supplier sells Seagate Barracuda drives; we have them both as internal hard drives, and external via USB and all have been fine, and I would be happy to buy more;
the ones you mention seem to be the paradoxically named “Free Agent Series”; indeed Seagate are so proud of them they describe them as
Seagate® FreeAgent™
so they should stand out if one were tempted to buy one;
so I guess if one flags the
Seagate® FreeAgent™
; beware currently
hmm and of course the HD I already have installed is a seagate and the one that should be ariving today is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ATA100 7200RPM 16MB Cache Hard Drive
If it’s for internal and its ATA, it won’t be pausing to sleep when not frequently accessed, so it should be OK. Sounds like a standard internal HDD.
