does can anyone tellme an usb wifi stick/pen which is
recognized and works good with OpenSuSe 11.1 ???
I think my atheros is dead.
:)Netgear WG111 v2 USB stick works out of box with openSuSE 11.1 w/KDE desktop. 54mBs max. speed. Must be the **version 2 ** model to work with RTL8187 USB wireless driver.
Before I was convinced this Netgear WG111v2 was working correctly,(poor signal level connection in openSuSe) I ordered another wireless network card,a re-manufactured Netgear WG511T 802.11g PCMCIA adapter that will work with openSuSE also, infomation below. I’m glad I did the Netgear WG511T 802.11g PCMCIA card connects at 108mBs and has a higher signal strength level then the Netgear WG111 v2 USB stick. Right now I have them both on my laptop and they working together for my wifi connection on different DHCP assigned IP’s.
I purchased a re-manufactured Netgear WG511T PCMCIA 802.11g 108mbps wireless network card with a 30 day warranty from Netgear for $10.95 + $6.00 S&H Total $16.95.
If any one is interested I got it at;
