WiFi symbol / icon at the top not displayed in 12.1 GNOME. Is this normal?

Hi,

I haven’t tried GNOME 3 before so I’m not sure if this is a purposeful omission from the top bar of the user interface (above application windows). Because it was not displayed I thought WiFi did not work after installation because the WiFi icon was displayed at the time of booting into the install LiveCD. However, I connected to WiFi via YaST fine, but it still doesn’t display any WiFi icon in the top right to make it easy to connect or disconnect from a WiFi connection. Is this normal in GNOME 3.x?

There should be an icon

The icon should be there. And it should be a different icon from what you saw with Gnome 2.x. It looks a bit like the speaker icon, except radiating upwards.
