Wifi stopped working after recent update

Hello I’m using a notebook with opensuse Tumbleweed installed on it but after a recent update I cannot connect to the internet anymore.

I’m using the KDE Desktop with it’s networkmanager but in the taskbar I got a yellow question mark on the wifi symbol (?). But I don’t find useful information what it means.
It seems to be connected but I have no internet access with a lot of programs. But I can ping eg 8.8.8.8 or also the Telegram Desktop messenger is working. So there is internet access somehow but the browser firefox and chrome are not working and all KDE programs.

What can I try to make it working again?

Thank you very much

There are already numerous recent threads on this topic (affecting TW users) if you care to search.

Anyway, to keep things simple…

sudo rm -f /etc/resolv.conf

Then do

sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.service

or

sudo systemctl restart network.service

Hi
Delete the /etc/resolv.conf file and reboot.

Thank you very much. That was very easy.

But the Kde Icon still looks strange. Should I delete the kde settings?
Where are they stored in

/home/benny/local/share/

Thank you very much.

Is your TW install fully updated?

FWIW, I did find this kde thread which references this kde bug report describing similar. I’m not a TW user, so don’t know whether the fix has been provided by an update yet or not.

I’m a Tumbleweed user too. If there is an update, to fix this problem, it hasn’t arrived in TW yet.
For the moment we will have to live with this strange looking icon :frowning:
