WIFI screen share with TV / WIDI

I’m purchased new LG tv (42LS570Y), and i want to share my PC (opensuse 12.2) screen with this tv via wifi.
I have a D-link 2760U router.
I have no idea how to do it…

After a little “googling” i’m still sitting with a big “?” on my face… :frowning:

Intel has support for something like this unfortunately its not supported under Linux.

Miracast seems to be the new industry standard but I can’t see any Linux implementation of it yet.

I think this will work.

Stream computer desktop to TV using DLNA, TVersity and VLC

You could also use an old computer with VNC.

Here’s a blog post with my experiences https://forums.opensuse.org/blogs/knurpht/playing-media-content-opensuse-dlna-smart-tv-119/

What is important, is to know what the TV is scanning the network for. In my case I already knew that DLNA would work, I just didn’t know how. I searched software.opensuse.org , the rest is in the blog post.

Thank you!
I’ll give it a try, and will write you back how it was…
