Hi all,
I have recently installed 12.1 on an old desktop. Wireless with a TP-Link 300Mbps wireless N PCI adapte TL-WN851ND (Atheros card with ath9k driver) is the only option for internet connection. I’ve tried both network manager and wicd, but the system will be frozen once I start the connection, and I can only rely on power off button. I’m wondering if there’s anything wrong with the network card driver. Can anyone shed some light please?
Cheers,
Seb

Post result of
/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net
I have heard of several cases where wicd is the problem. Dump it and use
NetworkManager!
