Wifi icon on taskbar has disappeared

opensuse 13.2 64bit had wifi networking working through kwallet and there was the wifi icon bottom right of the taskbar allowing for connection control now it isn’t there. kwallet still asks for access password and the network works to goto internet and such but just no icon.

I made 2 machines identical Acer Aspire e1-572 Laptop with opensuse 13.2 KDE desktop. One machine is with me other with missing icon is 3000 miles away with total noob to linux… Only thing that I can think of that is different is the other machine has person who insists on using wireless mouse instead of the touchpad.

Plasma desktop is enabled

Any ideas out there
Thanks

So, are you using NetworkManager or wicked? If using the former then I would expect the NM (plasma-nm) widget to be present with an icon shown in the system tray. It is not just for wireless networks of course. Maybe you need to add it to the system tray?
