Not disabled in the BIOS?

Do you happen to have an ethernet cable plugged in at boot? I’ve read some anecdotal accounts that some laptops have a BIOS function that can be used to disable wifi (hard-block) when wired ethernet is present. Anyway, if this is the case try booting without it and report back. Otherwise, please disregard.

not disabled in bios
also in kde when i check hardware info, i see intel hardare wifi

ethernet cable was not connected

How do you turn your wireless on and off on your laptop?

If you don’t know the hardware method to turn your WiFi on and off,
What is the full and exact name (manufacturer and model) of your laptop?

TSU

press fn + f5 is to enable / disabled wifi

lenovo t420s

Post as root:

/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -iA3 net
rfkill list all

Maybe rfkill needs to be installed.
