my laptop is lenovo thinkpad t61p with 15.4’’ widescreen monitor. however the display size is actually 15’’. so there’s two 30mm wide black stripe on both sides, kind of a mood killer.
I tried to configure it in yast to 15.4’, but it’s not working. thanks for any suggesions.
did you configure screen size and resolution in Yast?
What video chip does the laptop use? If it is NVidia or ATI, did you install the proprietary drivers?

I use nvidia quadro fx 570 video card, with driver installed. i did configure the both.
T61 is 15’’, t61p is 15.4’'widescreen. suse considers t61p as t61?
