Hi Ioriginally tried using the WN311T Netgear card but in he end it seemd that driver XP 64 bit was not the correct one so I have not gone and installed a ASUS WL-138G V2, which alspo a broadcom chipset.
I have though a different problem:

Thanks for the RPM I tried itand it works.
So that I also learn, can you please tell me why the mentioned problem with ssb? I have seen quite a few post on the topic, some suggesting that I should blacklist ssb etc but none seemed to work. Also can you please tell me if you have either an rpm or a xp64 driver for the marvell chipset netgear wn311t?
Thanks in advance
There is no problem with ssb, there is a problem with ndiswrapper for a card which does not need it.
Forget ndiswrapper or any windows drivers with this card, remove the installed windows driver it’s completely unneccessary.
Also can you please tell me if you have either an rpm or a xp64 driver for the marvell chipset netgear wn311t?
No I don’t and presumably nobody will package this as rpm due to licensing issues.
For a 64bit driver you will have to search the internet yourself, but why use that card if you have a perfectly working card using a native driver?
Hi Thanks for explanation. I tried to use the ndiswrapper because I was told that the native linux driver for WL-138 v2 was slower than with windows driver ndiswrapped.
My other card is a wn311t which i was planning on intalling on my old computer … so I can learn by having a mini network at home.
Thanks

Although the b43 driver may be slower than the Windows driver for some versions,
it is still faster than my 7 Mb/s broadband line. If you are doing a lot of
transfers within your LAN, you may see a difference, but not to the outside world.
