Why the OpenSUSE repositories allways down..

Hi

I was using Kubuntu 8.04 and it was a good experiance.

Now, I am trying OpenSUSE 11.0 for just change. But, the update/install is working very slowly.

I cannot update my system with just simple command. I have to sit down in front of my system and in every 5-10 minuste I have to press “r” to retry. Is there any fast repositories to do this.

I am using this command to update system :

sudo zypper update

Thanks

Once in a while, one of the repos might be down or having trouble, and I get the abort, retry, ignore question that you mention. However, it sounds like you are getting this from multiple repos frequently.

What repos are you getting problems from? If you are using the standard repos, then you shouldn’t be having this problem–they automatically redirect you to the fastest available mirror.

You could (and should) change your repos to the closet mirror to your
location. That will fix the speed issue and usually fixes unavailable repos.
